1. Apply for Emirates ID Online

- Visit the ICP website at icp.gov.ae.
- Registration your UAE PASS account for the first time or login.
- You will need to provide your UAE phone number and email address to create an account.
- Navigate to the ‘Services’ section and select the option “Issue New Emirates ID.”
- Fill out your Emirates ID Application Form with the required information.
- Upload scanned copies of your passport and documents, as requested.
- Pay the service fee using the provided payment options.
- Submit your application to the ICP smart services.
- Now use the UAE ICP app on your and log in to your UAE PASS account.
- Move to the ‘Registration Guide’ service and add biometrics (fingerprints) if it was not registered in the system.
- ICP smart system verifies your passport or residency’s validity and checks biometric details for security.
- After approval, you can choose between two service options to collect your new Emirates ID.
- Receive your Emirates ID within one hour at an ICP Happiness Center in UAE for an extra fee of Dh150).
- Get your UAE ID through Emirates Post courier in the next 5 days with a regular fee.
This method is intended for individuals obtaining their first UAE identity card, who have not previously registered or been issued an identity number.
2. Documents Required When Apply for Emirates ID Application
These documents are required for new Emirates ID applicants, including UAE residents, citizens, nationals, and expats in the UAE.
UAE Nationals
- Valid passport for scanning.
- Personal photo (4.5 x 3.5 cm) with a white background for all age groups.
- Emirates ID or Passport of one of the parents.
- For those under 15 years old, provide an original birth certificate.
- Original document proving kinship of citizen (family book, marriage contract).
GCC Nationals
- Valid passport for scanning.
- Personal photo (4.5 x 3.5 cm) with a white background for all age groups.
- GCC ID card is valid for those over 21 years old or for one of the parents of those under 21 years old.
- Original document proving kinship of citizen (family book, birth certificate, marriage contract).
- Original birth certificate for those under 15 years old.
- Passport of one of the parents or Emirates ID.
Residency Visa Holders and Expats
- Valid passport for scanning.
- Original agency certificate.
- Provide the passport of one of the parents or Emirates ID. (if applicable)
- Original birth certificate for those under 15 years old. (if applicable)
- Original identification documents of the citizen (family book, birth certificate, marriage contract, previous identity card). (if applicable)
- Personal photo (4.5 x 3.5 cm) with a white background for all age groups.
- Proof of residency within UAE by providing one of the following documents.
- Original valid trade license.
- Original ownership of a residential or commercial property.
- Original certificate of continuity of study from an accredited school, college, or university in the country.
- Original work certificate issued by a government institution for government sector workers.
- Work contract certified by the Ministry of Emiratisation and Human Resources for private sector workers.
- Proof of residence for children (one of the documents described above) if applying for children.
