  1. Register with UAE Pass at the ICP website at icp.gov.ae.
  2. Log in to your UAE Pass account.
  3. Apply for the “Renew Emirates ID” service.
  4. Provide all the required documents and fill out the UAE ID renewal application form.
  5. Pay the required service fees that vary for your ID validity time.
  6. Provide the biometrics data that is relevant for applicants ages above 15 years old.
  7. Receive your renewed UAE ID card from Emirates Post or directly at the Happiness Centre.

  • Original passport
  • Valid Residency Visa or Entry Permit
  • Your Expired Emirates ID Card
  • Personal Photo with White Background (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm size)

Emirates ID Renewal Fees

The renewal fees for Emirates ID vary depending on the duration of validity. As of the latest update, the fees are as follows:

  • 1-year UAE ID renewal fee is AED 100 Emirati dirham
  • 2-year UAE ID renewal fee is AED 200 Emirati dirham
  • 3-year UAE ID renewal fee is AED 300 Emirati dirham

Emirates ID Renewal Grace Period

The grace period for renewing your expired Emirates ID card is 30 days from the date of expiry, and after this period, late fines will be applicable.

Beneficiaries will receive SMS notifications from the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) to remind them to renew their ID within the 30-day window and avoid late fines.

Emirates ID Expiry Fine

If you don’t renew your expired Emirates ID card within the 30-day grace period, you’ll face a daily fine of Dh20. The maximum charge on your Emirates ID can reach Dh1,000.

Processing Time to Receive Renewed Emirates ID Card

The renewal process for UAE ID also known as Emirates ID takes 24 hours to 5 working days, in which timeframe you can expect to receive your ID through Emirates Post courier service at your location.

If you have applied for an urgent Fawri express service at ICP Happiness Centre, you’ll receive your renewed ID card in 24 hours.

The same process can be applied when you replace lost Emirates ID card, with an additional fee of 150 Dhs for exclusive Fawri service.
