How We Verify
This page explains how My ID Status checks its guides before they are published. It is a short statement of our method, not a government page.
How steps are re-checked
Each step in a guide is re-checked on the official portal for that country before the guide is published. If a step cannot be found on the official portal, it is not presented as a confirmed step.
Fees and dates
Fees and dates in our guides come from official portals only. Where an official portal does not state a fee or a date, we do not invent one.
Search results are leads, not facts
Google results and competitor pages are treated as leads, not facts. A claim found only in a search result or on a competitor site is checked against the official portal before it is used.
Unverified claims are held out
Unverified claims are held out of our guides until they can be confirmed on an official portal. We would rather leave a detail out than publish a step, fee or date that we cannot verify.
Not an official government site. We do not collect ID numbers.
