Qatar ID is the primary identification document for both residents and expatriate workers in Qatar. To prevent penalties from the Ministry of Interior (MOI), it is crucial to renew it at least 3 months before its validity expiration date.

The MOI Qatar ID Check tool enables you to keep track of your QID’s Validity and Expiry status. This service is only applicable once your residency permit process is completed and MOI have been issued your Qatar ID.

Qatar ID Check

To check your MOI Qatar ID Validity, you can use either your Passport Number or the Qatar ID Number that has been issued to you. You must have one of these documents to complete the process.

  1. Visit the official Qatar Ministry of Interior web services at portal.moi.gov.qa.
  2. Click on the ‘MOI Services’ from the menu and choose ‘Inquiries’ and then “Other Inquiries.”
  3. Choose the ‘Official Documents’ service from the given list.
  4. Select your search document by “Passport Number” or “Qatar ID Number.”
  5. From the given menu choose your Nationality to proceed with your QID check.
  6. Enter the captcha code and click on the “Search” button.
  7. You will see your Qatar ID status displayed on the screen, allowing you to check its validity.

By using this method, you can keep track of your Qatar ID’s validity and expiry date, ensuring it remains current throughout your stay.

Your valid Qatar ID is crucial for both applying for a Qatar family visit visa and ensuring smooth immigration clearance when entering or leaving the country.

Documents Required for Qatar ID Check

To perform a Qatar ID check online, you need either your Qatar ID card number or your passport number. One of these documents is necessary for verification, and without them, you won’t be able to check your QID status online.

Your Qatari ID is important identification document and includes details such as your name, date of birth, gender, age, nationality, and residency status. It has an 11-digit number with the first digit representing your birth year, the next two digits showing the last two digits of your birth year, the following three digits indicating your country’s ISO code, and the final five digits indicating the number of Qataris born in the same year as you.

  1. The Qatar ID card itself costs QR100, and there are additional fees based on the duration and type of electronic services chosen.
  2. E-gate services cost QR150 for two years, while one year of e-gate service is only QR100. Additionally, the three-year subscription to e-gate services costs QR200.
  3. The annual fee for QID renewal is QR500 for family sponsorship and QR1000 for employees sponsored by businesses.

Processing Time to Obtaining Your Qatar ID

Qatar ID (QID) processing takes 3 weeks, and depend on your medical results and fingerprint appointment, with possible passport submission.

Generally, once you’ve submitted your application with all required documents, the QID is prepared within three weeks.

If any necessary documentation is missing, authorities will request you to provide it. To expedite the card issuance process, it’s important to promptly submit all required documents.

How Long is Qatar ID Card Validity

The validity of a Qatar ID card varies.

  • For Qatari citizens, the ID card is valid for 10 years.
  • For residents in Qatar, the ID card is valid for 5 years.

It’s important to note that once the card expires, you must renew it to maintain its status as a valid form of identification. The renewal process should be carried out regularly as long as you reside in Qatar.
